Does the bi-annual time change affect you?
Moving back and forth between standard and daylight savings?
Does one affect you more than the other one?
Spring forward and lose an hour.
Fall back and gain one back.
My Story
Historically, I’ve always preferred the fall switch.
An extra hour of sleep to “catch up”.
While on the spring switch, I sacrificed the time.
This year, I’ve realized that I think the fall switch is more difficult for me.
Not in my mood (I know that SAD is out there), but in my rhythm.
With darkness falling by dinnertime, I feel like it should be time for bed.
My energy runs low.
I fall asleep watching TV in the evening.
While I hate losing an hour each spring, the added daylight gives me energy.
I continue projects later in the day because the sun is still up.
I feel less tired even when I’m getting the same sleep.
I wonder if I’m the only one like this.
Maybe I need to think about my year differently.
Plan for the less productive months….and the more productive.
Accept that it’s time to get cozy, nap, and enjoy the darkness.
Your Turn
If this describes you, what do you do in the dark season?
Does this time of year change your level of productivity?
Do you adjust your routines when the clocks change? If so, how?
