You know the pattern.
December 31st arrives. You make resolutions. Maybe a vision board.
You’re motivated for two weeks.
By February, you’re back to reacting instead of leading.
Wondering where the year went.
Feeling stuck in the same patterns.
What if you treated 2027 like a business treats its fiscal year?
With reflection. Strategy. Clear goals.
Quarterly plans. Accountability. Not fluffy wishes. Actual plans.
Most people spend more time planning their vacation than planning their year.
Then they wonder why they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or off-track.
We wouldn’t run a business without a strategic plan.
Why run our careers and life that way?
Choose to lead, not drift, through 2027.
My Approach
Over the last 15 years, I’ve been refining an end of year strategic, personal planning process.
There is reflection on the year that has ended.
Assessments of what went well and what could have gone better.
There is time to dream. Considering all the possibilities for the year ahead. (quote from Juliette)
Then, the possibilities are narrowed and the goals for the year come into view.
However, many don’t take the next steps necessary for success.
A plan broke down into achievable pieces. Artifacts to provide daily reminders of the vision.
Accountability partners. Quarterly and monthly check ins. Flowing with the seasons of the year.
“I believe strategic planning is as important to our personal brand as a Fortune 500 business.” – Lori Sullivan
