Today I’m tired.

I’ve written a blog post every day for nearly 4 years.

Today as I sat with blank paper, I realized I’m tired.

And uninspired.

I don’t know what I want to write about.

This format is perfect for time but limiting in depth.

I wonder how I could shift my practice and still keep the momentum.

Could I spend a week on a deeper topic?

Covering it with breadth and depth via a short post each day.

Could I spend the week researching, writing and refining a deeper piece?

Maybe this approach could turn into chapters of a book.

Could I write posts on weekdays and personal journal time on weekends?

As I write this, I’m realizing these are choices.

No one is holding me to this format I’ve developed.

No one is forcing me to write every day.

I chose the format… and the daily practice.

They are mine to shift and morph into the shape I need them for the next phase.

I have agency.

I can make the choices that are right for me right now.

Things may change or I might keep them the same.

Yet I realize now that this is my choice to make.

I believe we all get stuck in ruts and routines that are no longer serving us.

The key is to recognize the rut and shift to something new.

Your Turn

Have you felt stuck in a habit or routine you’ve had for a long time?

Did you change your habit or stick it out?

How could you spend some time today evaluating your habits to see if they need refreshing?
