This week, there wasn’t one of my posts that stood out as the one to highlight. So, I’m giving a brief overview of each and you can click through to learn more about the topics that interest you.

Who Am I? This post focuses on the titles we give ourselves. In the professional world, as work structures continue to shift, it’s important to break free of titles and identify our unique difference.

Are You Anxious? The word anxious has two meanings – eager and worried. This post explores how that can lead to misunderstandings, but also to a new way to look at events we are nervous about.

The Formula for Willpower. I’ve written quite a bit about Charles Snyder’s Hope Theory. This post digs into willpower and questions if a real hurdle might be our mindset toward the goal.

EVEolution: 26 Years Later. In Woman’s History month, I wanted to start to feature books written by women who have touched my career. This post talks about one of them. I soaked up all of Faith Popcorn’s trend books in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I found it interesting to look back at the 8 Truths in this book and realize that all are still relevant today… even beyond marketing.

Intellectual Humility. The space between stubbornness and gullibility is where intellectual humility resides. This post explores the concept and introduces 6 dimensions of intellectual humility.

Podcasts That Caught My Attention

This week, I want to introduce you to The Retirement Wisdom Podcast hosted by Joe Casey. Joe is a Merrill Lynch HR executive turned executive coach helping leaders make the transition into retirement. Each week he interviews guests with content relevant to defining your next chapter. This week, he hosted a fascinating conversation with Jennifer Breheny Wallace on her book Mattering: The Secret to a Life of Deep Connection and Purpose. I highly recommend this episode and the podcast overall for anyone starting to think about retirement.

Three additional podcasts that caught my attention are a “flight”. All focused on the overfull lives we live and the strategies for breaking the busy, crisis-driven cycles we find ourselves in.

How to Stop Using Excuses and Make Conscious Choices Instead. 11 minutes. Optimal Living Daily. In this episode, Ellen Burgan challenges the cultural badge of honor around being “busy,” revealing how it often disguises fear-based excuses that keep us stuck.

3 Steps Leaders Need to Take to Break Out of Crisis Management Mode. 5 minutes. Optimal Work Daily. In this podcast Julie Morgenstern explains how constant urgency can trap professionals in a reactive loop that drains energy and focus.

If you Have to Rush, There Isn’t Time. 5 minutes. Before Breakfast. This podcast helps us recognize that squeezing things in isn’t always the best strategy.
