When I think about our personal brands, I think about an umbrella.

The mission, vision, and summary of who we are.

Yesterday, during a search, I saw an article title that intrigued me:

“Credit Card: Can you build a personal brand with it?”

There were 6 suggestions.

The first one was the credit score.

They talked about how your score and money management impact your personal brand.

These may not be visible on the outside, but I see what they mean.

The other ideas in the article are tied to the perks of the card you choose.

Those perks can also send a message about your personal brand.

My Perspective

I’m now intrigued by the idea that our personal brand might shine through in other ways.

Maybe we could understand how our brand shows up in all 8 dimensions of wellbeing.

We could explore our personal equation in each.

Financial. Occupational. Intellectual. Spiritual. Physical. Emotional. Environmental. Social.

I’ve been thinking that the personal brand pyramid was purely “occupational wellbeing”.

Now I realize that, like I said above, it’s more of an umbrella.

We can understand how personal branding plays out in each of the 8 dimensions.

Answering questions like:

What is my unique approach to social connections?

How does my personal brand have an impact on my physical wellbeing?

Your Turn

Do you see your credit score as part of your personal brand?

Could you tie all the dimensions of wellbeing to the umbrella brand pyramid?

What step could you take to understand how your brand shows up in one of the dimensions?
