Over the last 5-7 years, I started to pay deeper attention to my time and energy. Understanding where time was going (at work and at home), noticing when I had energy and when I felt drained.

I realized that there were several ways I could understand my personal energy fingerprint. The first post I wrote on the topic was back in 2022 in a post titled “Managing Energy vs. Managing Time”. When I look at this post, I realize how far my thinking has come since then.

There are three elements I see as core to our energy fingerprint and those were outlined in this post: The first two – Source of Energy and Energy Curves were covered here. The third is my framework of the 7 modes of energy that were first introduced here.

This week, I focused on this third pillar and went deeper on Managing Energy at Work. This post helps each of us identify when our energy goes up and down throughout the workday. Understand the tasks that energize us and the ones that drain. We can think about the ups and downs to create our personalized work energy map.
