Halfway Day is coming up next Thursday, July 2nd.

The first half of the year will be behind us and we have half remaining.

This is the perfect time to take pause, reflect, celebrate and set intentions.

In order to take advantage of the day, it’s good to plan ahead.

Today’s post will cover some ideas to get you started and the post on July 2nd will help you with questions and prompts for reflection.

3 Questions to Consider

Here are three questions to consider as you start to plan the day:

  1. Do you want to spend the time in quiet reflection alone or in a group with others?
  2. How much time can you set aside for the activity? If not on the 2nd, will a day close by work?
  3. Where do you want to reflect? At home? A quiet spot outdoors? Out and about?

Once you have a general sense of how you would like the day to look, the planning can begin.

Below are a few ideas that could spark an idea for your day:

Host a Halfway Party

Before the Fourth of July activities hit, have a “Half Year’s Eve” party. Instead of a countdown to midnight, the countdown would be to noon (12 pm) on July 2nd which is the actual halfway point of the year. Celebrate what has been accomplished and toast to the what’s to come.

Plan an Adventure

Take a road trip or find an adventure in your town. Stop somewhere you’ve never been like a new farmer’s market or café. Try something new like kayaking. Visit a museum or art fair for inspiration. Find something that feels right for you and use the time to celebrate, reflect, and set intentions.

Complete a “Reset”

Set aside some time clear and declutter to give a “fresh start” to the second half. Clean out a closet, garage, or other space that has gotten messy. Organize finances and do a mid-year assessment of spending and saving. Tackle the digital files – organize files and photos, delete emails, and put things “in their place” online.

Your Turn

How will you celebrate Halfway Day?
