As I typed the title of this post, the word “enough” made a personal impact.
One word with a great deal of weight.
The dictionary defines enough as:
“A degree or quantity that satisfies or that is sufficient or necessary for satisfaction.”
So, to know if we have enough of something, we need to know what will satisfy us.
What is sufficient for our lives.
Not the life of someone else.
For us.
When we are below or beyond our personal level, life can feel off balance.
My Perspective
I believe spending some time considering our “enough levels” is valuable.
We can use the 8 dimensions of wellbeing (occupational, financial, physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, social, and environmental) as our guide.
Consider your physical wellbeing and ask:
What is enough? What would you be satisfied with?
Consider all the areas of physical wellbeing – sleep, diet, exercise, weight, cholesterol, etc.
Then move to occupational wellbeing.
What is enough? What would you be satisfied with?
Evaluate hours worked, location, salary, coworkers, etc.
Then, move through the other 6 areas:
Intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social, environmental, and financial wellbeing.
Your Turn
Have you ever considered what would be “enough” in your life?
What are the areas you think about less?
How could knowing your enough levels make a positive impact on your life?
