Both stuck and stagnant imply that we aren’t moving.
We lack progress and momentum.
This can happen in any part of our lives at any time.
Stuck often implies that there is an obstacle in the way.
Preventing our movement.
Stagnant implies a longer and more pervasive challenge.
This can lead to boredom and a sense of being trapped.
Both can make us feel heavy, tired, without flow.
Both require progress and activity to move beyond.
My Perspective
I think it’s hard to tell the difference between being stuck and stagnant.
And, maybe, it doesn’t matter which we are feeling.
The important step is to start to act and incorporate change into our routines.
We can add variety.
Learn something new.
Journal.
Dream about where we want to go next.
Connect with others.
Practice self-care.
Find the part of your life that is the source for stagnation and make a change.
Work to break the obstacles.
Regain the flow.
Your Turn
Have you felt stuck and stagnant? Could you tell the difference?
What did you do to change the situation.
How might you provide a personal action plan for the next time it happens?
