When life is full, there is always something to do.
The list doesn’t end.
As one thing is removed, three others pop up.
Sometimes we need to put the list aside.
Step away and do things that we enjoy.
My Perspective
I always have a list.
I love lists.
There are positives, but I do find it hard to really relax.
The list nags in the background of all the things to be done.
Yesterday, I combined something on my list with rest.
I needed to do some gift shopping.
Instead of jumping online and checking it off the list, I went to the mall.
I browsed.
Carefully selected gifts.
I even made an extra trip – to the bookstore.
Just for the fun of wandering around.
I jotted down a list of books I might want to buy someday.
And left without buying anything.
I drove slowly.
Listened to the radio.
Enjoyed the scenery.
And, most importantly, was reminded how much relaxing and taking a break matters.
Your Turn
Do you feel like you have enough time to relax?
When you aren’t doing something, are you relaxed (or thinking about the list)?
How could you accomplish something on your list in a more relaxed way?
