This week, the highlight takes a shift from personal branding & self-development to marketing and the evolution of organizational structures. The landscape of marketing (and employment in general) has been shifting since the Great Recession (around 2010). The shifts have happened slowly over the years, eroding employment contracts that many might not have noticed. Yet, the contracts for Gen Z are extremely different than those entered into when Boomers were in their 20’s.

The first post is a summary titled The Evolution of Marketing. This post summarizes, in bullet form, the challenges I see facing employers and employees in the marketing space. With shifts in technology, things will continue to change, but the path currently isn’t clear.

The second post, titled Organizational Structures, builds on the first. There are traditional and new structures presented as we look to the future. My belief is that both organizations and individuals need to shift their perspectives on what it means to be an employer…and an employee.
