People are building personal “boards of directors” with AI.
An agent that provides feedback on thoughts and ideas from different perspectives.
There are countless approaches to how the board can be created.
Personas of experts in different fields (living or not).
Personas that represent specific roles you want involved in feedback for decisions.
Personas covering different points of view.
My Perspective
I’ve been trying a number of these techniques in the last few months.
One that stuck with me I heard from the Squiggly Careers Podcast.
They suggested creating a board that includes the following six “roles”:
Supporter. Questioner. Challenger. Ideator. Connector. Empathizer.
I’ve used this format to vet ideas, brainstorm, and make a few decisions.
I even tried it on a resume to see if it would be helpful for job seekers.
My assessment…YES on all fronts.
I’m finding the framework simple to use and it provides a lot of great perspectives.
I get a bit of encouragement (Supporter and Empathizer).
Some tough love (Questioner and Challenger).
And expansion in ways I wasn’t considering (Ideator and Connector).
More complex “boards” might be more appropriate for a specific project.
Yet, for 99% of what I’ve needed so far, these six roles work great.
I would encourage you to pick a topic and give it a try.
