Welcome to the Saturday Summary.
What I’ve Written – Blog Summary
This week there are two posts focused on your personal brand. I would recommend the career assets as one to at least pursue.
Summer Guilt. As we start to get to the end of August, I start to be ready for the “chores” of summer to be over. There is guilt in not being outside all the time either having fun or doing maintenance.
Career Assets. We all have a portfolio of assets. This post highlights 10 personal career assets that we should understand and manage. While it might take some time to pull together and consider, this is well worth it.
6 Steps to Creating Your Unique Value Proposition. This post walks you step by step to creating a statement the highlights your unique difference.
The Top 1% -10 Ideas from 1000 Days of Writing. I’m celebrating 1000 days of writing a one-page (occasionally more) blog post. I share what I’ve learned, some of my favorites, and what’s next.
Technology and Our Point of View. The final post of the week explores how we keep our voice and perspective as the world works to leverage AI.
What I’ve Listened To – PodList
This week, the curated podcasts start with two on personal branding that stay in the theme of some of the blog posts. I also highly recommend the 3rd one focused on pleasing people. There was a lot there that I found insightful. I hope something resonates with you.

What I’ve Been Up To
On the professional front, I’ve been thinking a lot about where I take my writing as I hit the 1000-day mark. I want to start to take some of the content and turn it into some curated projects like a book, course, or something else. In addition, I have the itch to do some marketing writing. Trends, ideas and perspectives from both my experience and what I see in the market. We’ll see where that goes. If you have ideas on where I might focus, I would love the perspective.
Outside of work, this week was full of all the normal things…taking walks and reading when I could squeeze it in. The other activity around our house was watching the Little League World Series. It’s been a fun couple weeks of watching that will wrap up soon.
