Welcome to the Saturday Summary.
What I’ve Written – Blog Summary
This week, the posts bounce around a bit. Hopefully, you find a post or two that resonates with something happening in your life right now. Enjoy!
Summer Time. This first post of the week reminds us that time in summer flows differently. Instead of pushing against it, lean into the season and define your own summer time.
Over Full Lives Hold Us Back. With lives so full, we don’t find the space we need to expand and grow. This post reminds us to understand our daily energy and find some room for progress.
Constraints Create Ideas. We often feel like boundaries and constraints limit us and hold us back. However, when we embrace these constraints sometimes we find our best, most creative ideas.

Culture and Our Role in It. The culture of teams and organizations – at work or otherwise – are a result of the behavior of the group. Your choices impact the culture that exists.
What I’ve Listened To – PodList
This week, there is a loose focus on time management and overwhelm. The last episode on the list is a bit different, but I really enjoyed both the poem and the interview on wonder.
How to Take Control of Your Calendar with Time Crafting. 25 minutes. Everyday Better with Leah Smart. I like how this episode provides an example of Leah trying a time management technique to better understand how she’s really spending her time.
How to Build an AI Assistant for Any Challenge. 32 minutes. HBR Ideacast. This episode suggests we all start playing with AI and building assistants to help in all sorts of ways.
When You’re Overwhelmed by the World. 28 minutes. The Lazy Genius Podcast. There are a lot of people overwhelmed with everything happening in the world today. This episode provides 13 techniques that you can easily implement to help reduce that overwhelm.
Three Walls Every High Achiever Hits. 12 minutes. Daily Boost. This episode for everyone who strives for achievement. Watch out for the three walls you will definitely hit.
“Marigolds” A Poem About Wonder. 9 minutes. TED Talks Daily. In this interview, Safiya Sinclair performs her poem and then talks about her writing process and the creative muse.
What I’ve Been Up To
On the professional front, I’ve been thinking about the direction I want my “portfolio” to take. While strategy and curation are common across it all, I’m trying to find the right mix between marketing, employee experience, and coaching/training projects. I like the eclectic mix of work but feel like I’ll make more impact with some specific focus areas.
Outside of work, I spent time outside by/in the pool. I’m doing my best to relax and savor the space before summer disappears. The pool time has me reading more fiction and I finished the book The Housewarming. It was recommended by Jenna on the Today Show and I would agree. The storylines around friendship and mystery kept me wanting to find moments to pick it up.
