Each of us has our own “special sauce”.

The mix of qualities and personality traits that make our approach unique.

Ten people could have the same job, but they would each make it come to life differently.

One might focus on the relationships, another on the process, another on planning, the list goes on and attributes are combined in different ways.

That is because we each have our special sauce.

The challenge we have is discovering and articulating our unique mix.

Because our approach comes easily to us, we often don’t see the “obvious”.

Others may compliment us on something we don’t even realize we do.

To determine our secret sauce, we need to get curious and act like a detective to draw it out.

My Perspective

When I coach others, I often say it’s WAY easier to help others figure out their secret sauce than it is to figure out our own.

I feel like I’m working on and trying to refine mine all the time.

Lately, as I continue to reflect, I’ve been doing a better job of asking others.

What do they see in me? How do my strengths show up in my work? How is my approach unique?

Answers to those questions are helping me define my own special sauce.

Who Am I?

I am a business growth advisor.

A relationship marketing expert.

A consultation who helps professionals become the MeEO of their career & life.

My goal is to create sustainability – profit, people, and planet – in our lives and businesses.

Sustainability is growth.

My Sauce

So, how do I deliver on who I am?

That is my sauce.

I do this through my unique ability to collect, organize, and plan.

I left the statement broad because what I collect, organize, and plan is different for every project.

Organic growth plans for a business are quite different than a personal development plan.

I collect, organize, and plan data. Information. Conversations. Physical objects. And more.

I compartmentalize information and things into categories quicker than most.

I draw insights and ideas from the “messy state”.  Often the ones others don’t see.

I remove complexity, just leaving what is necessary.

I know that getting to a plan is just the start. I know how to move from plan to results.

Hire Me If

Once we know who we are and our secret sauce, we can develop statements on why to hire us.

For me, here are a few of my statements:

Hire me if you need structure and want to get serious about business growth.

Hire me if you have career goals but are struggling to find the path to get there.

Hire me if the balance in your life feels “off” and your current pace isn’t sustainable.

Hire me if you have a complex business problem that needs to be organized and pushed forward.

Hire me if you have a ton of information and lack the time or expertise to determine what it says.

Hire me if you have a closet, room, or bookshelf that is out of control and causing you stress.

Hire me if a project is in the “messy middle” and you are struggling to find the way out.

Hire me if you have a lot of ambiguity and you don’t know the path forward.

Your Turn

How would you describe who you are?

What is the special sauce you bring to the table?

When should a company or individual look to hire you?
