I recently read The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins.
A book with a very simple message.
Don’t worry about or try to control the actions of others.
People will dislike things you do.
Do things you don’t agree with.
Yet, you can’t control them.
“Let Them”.
Instead, you can control yourself.
Your actions.
And reactions.
You can “Let Me”.
The book is full of research and insights on why this theory is so effective.
I would put this book top of your list if you spend too much time considering what others think.
The Inspiration
If you support the book, you may also see online that Mel likely didn’t come up with the idea.
There is a wonderful poem by Cassie Phillips that you should read.
It’s called Let Them.
My Perspective
I would love it if we could celebrate both Cassie and Mel in this movement.
Less debate on ownership and more gratitude to both.
They have brought a simple idea to the surface.
Cassie wrote a beautiful, inspirational piece of poetry.
Mel leveraged that concept, added research, and turned it into a book.
More detail on how to apply the theory in our everyday life.
Both were critical on the path to getting this idea into the world.
Your Turn
