Welcome to the Saturday post. Below is a quick recap of what was covered on both the personal development and sustainability blogs this week as well as some podcasts that inspired me. Enjoy!

Day 365 – Who’s it for?  The first post of the week marks my 1 year anniversary of writing a blog post each morning….every single day….rain or shine.  I reflect on the journey, how I’ve grown, and how I hope the posts have touched you.

Is Being Engaged at Work Enough? This post introduces the Deloitte concept of “the Passion of the Explorer”.  There are two additional posts that dive deeper this week as well.

Passion of the Explorer.  Continuing from the prior post, this summary dives into the three areas that make up the passion of the explorer – Commitment to Domain, Questing, and Connecting.

Grateful.  This Thanksgiving post is a reflection on just a few of the things I’m thankful for as I look back on the last 12 months.

Passion vs. Ambition.  The last post of the week has a tie back to passion of the explorer and expands to look at how passion and ambition can work together in our careers.

Below is an overview of the post on the blog this week.

Christmas Tree – Real or Artificial?  One of the questions of the holiday season surrounds the tree.  Does a real or artificial tree have a lighter impact on the environment?  This post covers the challenges with both alternatives and considering the triple bottom line when making the right choice for your home.

PodList

This week, there are four podcasts on the list.  Enjoy!

Who is Productive and Who Isn’t? Here’s How to Tell. 26 minutes. The McKinsey Podcast. This episode looks at organizational productivity and how to tell what might be bringing it down.

Quitting: A Life Strategy. 15 minutes. The Next Big Idea Daily.  This short podcast explores how to know when quitting might be a good idea.  From our personal lives to our careers, the concepts apply.

Addicted to Sugar? The Alarming Research They Don’t Want You to See. 1 hour 17 minutes. The Marie Forleo Podcast. With the holidays in full swing, this is an interesting listen.  The length is longer than I typically recommend, but this is a good one providing insight on energy levels and health.

7 Things I’ve Learned by Wearing the Same Things Over and Over Again. 10 minutes. Optimal Living Daily.  This one has tips that apply to sustainability and living with less.
