Welcome to the Saturday post. This is where I summarize podcasts that inspired me throughout the week and give a quick recap of what was covered on both blogs. Enjoy!

PodList

This week, five podcasts caught my attention and made the list. Four are short (8 minutes or less) and the fifth is longer (50 minutes), but well worth the listen.

A Poem of Birth and Rebirth – 3 minutes. Hey, Try This.  This short podcast got be thinking about what blooms might be emerging from our work and what seeds are we planting for the future.

The Roots of Excuses and Exceptions – 5 minutes. Self-Improvement Daily.  The challenge of recognizing self-sabotage is explored in a very succinct podcast.

A Simple Tactic for Accomplishing Your Goals – 8 minutes. The Accidental Creative.  This episode discusses what you might do if you treated the next year like a terminal year.

Gwyneth Paltrow x Bruce Feiler: Are You in a Workquake? 50 minutes. The Goop Podcast. This conversation explores ideas from Bruce Feiler’s book The Search: Finding Meaningful Work in a Post-Career World”.  The ideas of workquakes are discussed – note we have them every 2-3 years.  One quote that got me thinking was, “you don’t just climb for success, you dig for it”.

Myth 7 – Styrofoam Can be Recycled (NO it Can’t). 7 minutes. Carbon Sessions. I’ve been thinking a lot about reducing/removing plastic lately.  This podcast reminded me how important it is for us to discuss Styrofoam.  While we need to focus on plastic issues, Styrofoam is even worse.  A quick, important listen.
