We take our work and our lives quite seriously.

Can you remember the last time you laughed?

I mean really took a break and laughed.

Today is National Cartoonist Day

This might be the perfect day to take a break, remember cartoons you love, and look them up for a fun afternoon break filled with laughter.

Here’s the description of the day.

“Observed on May 5th each year, National Cartoonists Day honors all those creative ink-stained artists, past and present, and the fascinating pieces they have created. Throughout the years, their talents bring humor and entertainment into our lives while provoking thought and debate, too.”

My Story

When I was young, the Peanuts comic was my favorite.

Charlie Brown and the gang could always make me laugh.  I enjoyed the comic strip and any of the holiday TV specials.

As I got older and started working, Dilbert was my favorite comic.

I know there is controversy about the cartoonist. I don’t want to focus there.  The reason I connected with his comic through the years is the insight he found in the silly things surrounding work.

Below is a perfect example.  Makes me laugh.

The latest cartoonist that I’ve discovered is Tom Fishburne.  You can follow his comics here.

Your Turn

What are your favorite comics?

When was the last time you read one?

Can you find 5 minutes this afternoon to look one up and have a little laugh?
