This is a question we ask ourselves and others all the time.

The questions can then lead to more questions.

If we want to go out to dinner, we need to decide the type of food.

The location.

The details set the tone for the night out.

Defining the vibe we want to create.

Our lives are created around these things that we DO.

The actions we take.

Our Dream Career

What’s interesting is that when we think about our dream career a switch flips.

Most people don’t define their dream by what they will be doing.

Instead, we provide a title.

A degree.

A salary level.

Or other designations.

But what will we be DOING?

Will we enjoy that?

How will the degree / title / salary / etc. impact our lives?

We need to define how these things will change what we do.

Both inside and outside of work.

If we aren’t enjoying what we are doing, the designations don’t matter.

Yes, we need to make money.

The question is how we can achieve those designations doing something we enjoy.

This doesn’t mean “follow your passion” (though it could).

It means trying to find work that is interesting.

Something we look forward to more often than we look to with dread.

Your Turn

When you think of your dream job, what are you doing?

How many hours do you work?

What do you do to fill those hours?

How do you feel about that?
