An adventure is a trip without a destination.

A journey is when experience is more important than the destination.

The quest is focused on exploration and discovery seeking a goal or result.

Quests are personally relevant and can be done alone or with a group.

They have been turned into games.

Used in narratives to propel readers through stories.

There is no main topic or purpose…opportunities are endless.

My Perspective

I see personal development as a series of quests.

We could go on quests to find more time in our day.

Quests to be more organized.

Quests to understand how we approach the world.

Quests to be more environmentally conscious.

Quests to add fun and joy to our lives.

The list can go on and on.

Naming these personal development journeys as quests gives a feeling of intentionality.

And, maybe, just a bit of whimsy, fun, and adventure.

My Story

I have done so many quests over the years!

An interesting one to mention is my word of the year.

Each year, the word I choose sets me on a quest to discover, learn, and adjust something in my life.

The words provide intentionality and send me in search of insight and growth.

They make each year a quest and adventure.

Your Turn

When you think about your personal development, have you done a quest?

What is your favorite quest?

If you could choose any personal development quest for the next 6 months, what would it be?
