Rise of the MeEO
At the beginning of 2025, I posted a trend that was “the rise of the MeEO”.
The summary of the trend was as follows:
“The Rise of the MeEO™ Mindset: Professionals are managing their careers like businesses, using personal branding as “career insurance” to stay resilient and adaptable. This mindset empowers individuals to take control of their professional narratives, positioning themselves as leaders in their industries while maintaining the flexibility to pivot when opportunities arise.” – Lori Sullivan
Now, 18 months later, I continue to refine and understand the impact of the trend.
Conversations with employees, solopreneurs, and business owners have refined the insights.
More people are talking about the instability of the job market.
Our lives are overflowing with too much to do at work and at home.
We need the MeEO mindset more than ever.
The belief (and determination) that we have agency and autonomy in our career and life.
Once we realize that we are not stuck in our current situation, change can begin.
We can craft the 8 dimensions of wellbeing to suit our needs and desires.
Manage our time and energy in the way we want.
Become more aware of our values, strengths, motivations, and tendencies.
Define our unique difference.
Ensure we have career insurance in place for any obstacles that come our way.
Network and provide thought leadership even when we aren’t searching for a job.
Realize that we need space for creativity.
The possibilities are endless.
Before we know it, we can call ourselves a MeEO.
