Last week, I mentioned you shouldn’t miss the blog post titled “Enough”. I’ve been thinking about that post along with one that published this week titled “Shifting from Wealthy to Well-thy.”
This got me thinking about some other posts I’ve written over the last few years, like “Redefining Success” that focus on the 8-dimensions of wellbeing – occupational, financial, intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, social, and environmental – and how we each evaluate our personal needs across them.
When we get the dimensions in balance, our life feels sustainable, and ideally, we can move past that to finding space and soaring as described in this post about a “Wellbeing Journey”
All this started circling around an idea that I’ve tried to capture in the graphic below.

If we look through the lens of wealth, enough, and success to define our personal definitions across the 8 dimensions of wellbeing we can start to better understand what might make our life more sustainable. Asking questions like:
Am I living a life that fits someone else’s definition of wealth?
How can my definition of physical success shift how I approach my health & wellbeing?
Does my occupational wellbeing feel sustainable right now or am I struggling?
My Posts This Week
Bridging Divides. With so many things in the world today dividing people on opposite sides, this post suggests we all might be a bit closer to the middle and able to find win-win solutions.
The Freelance Movement. Freelance has been popular for some time now with more focus on creative professions. This post explores the movement and the benefits for both employers and freelancers.
Book Review: Flux. In a world full of constant change, I think Flux is full of ideas that can help us all navigate. To see if it might be for you, read the review for more details.
Mattering. This post talks about how we all need to matter and asks us to consider what we can do to ensure others know that they matter to us.
Podcasts That Caught My Attention
This week, there are four podcasts on the list. I hope at least one resonates with things going on in your life right now.
How to Ignite Passion and Performance in Every Employee. 31 minutes. The Next Big Idea Daily. This episode features highlights from two books. First, Meaningful Work: How to Ignite Passion and Performance in Every Employee by Wes Adams and Tamara Myles, and then, The Power of Giving Away Power: How the Best Leaders Let Go by Matthew Barzun.
The 5 AI Tools that Replace a $60,000 employee. 23 minutes. The $100 MBA Show. Instead of getting rid of an employee, I look at this as ideas for companies who are just starting out (solopreneurs and side hustlers I’m looking at you) and don’t have $60K to spend on an employee.
Take the Slow Way. 11 minutes. Optimal Living Daily. This episode explores how slowing down can help us reclaim meaning, clarity, and peace in a world driven by constant urgency and overstimulation. Seems fitting for the Memorial Day weekend.
The Grandparenting Blueprint. 27 minutes. Part 2. 34 minutes. The Retirement Wisdom Podcast. For anyone in the grandparenting phase of life, I highly recommend these episodes. Part 1 features an interview with both Richard and Linda Eyre and part 2 dives deeper into a conversation with Richard about his new book The Grandparenting Blueprint: How to Teach Your Grandchildren Life’s Most Important Questions. You can also check out Linda’s book, Grandmothering: The Secrets to Making a Difference While Having the Time of Your Life.
