We know that we aren’t at our best when our energy is low.
Our work quality isn’t as good, and it can take longer to get something done.
We can’t get in flow.
Everything seems harder than it should be.
Knowing our energy cycles can help us determine when to focus and when to rest.
The rest time brings us back able to accomplish more in a shorter period of time.
More productive.
My Perspective
If we know that rest helps us get more done in less time, why do we resist it?
Rest doesn’t necessarily mean a nap.
It means taking a break.
Break from a mental task with something physical.
Break from a solo task by connecting with a co-worker or calling a family member.
Break from deep work to answer email or organize files.
Just 5 minutes away from the activity that is draining us can be enough.
Refilling our cup to dive back in with greater productivity.
