Welcome to the Saturday Summary.
My Blog Posts
This week, I can’t pick just one post to say it’s my favorite or to highlight some of the lessons. Self-awareness is something we can all work on every day. The first two posts below are reflective, looking inward at what drives us and how we show up in the world. For those who feel overwhelmed with weekdays, I would read the last one for some tips and ideas to hopefully make it better.
Guiding Our Intrinsic Motivation. Often, we are driven by extrinsic motivation from others. This post reminds us of the importance of keeping track of our internal needs and motivation.
Are You Lifting the Room or Draining It? This first post of the week asks us to consider the energy we bring to a room and what actions of ours might either lift the energy or drain it away.
Another Form of Balance. When we think of balance, we often jump to work life balance. This post explores the balance of productivity and creativity.
Incremental Progress. We all have projects that seem daunting to move forward. Using the One Shade Greener philosophy, you can move your goals forward step by step, day by day.
30 Weekend Tips to Start the Week Right. The week is full of hustle & bustle. While the weekend can be as well, this is a time that you can do some favors for your future, weekday self.

What I’ve Been Up To
On the professional front, I’m thinking of adding some marketing articles to my blog. I’ve written a lot of these posts in the past 3 years, but none of them have been published. The decisions being worked through are if they belong with the personal development content or if I find some ways to put them in different places. For anyone else out there who has multiple professional passions. This constant “split-personality” challenge is real!
Outside of work, I finished reading the book Valuable Friction. There will be a post soon providing my perspective, but the headline is I really enjoyed it and would recommend picking it up. I’m also doing my best to get outside as much as possible while this late summer weather is awesome. Nice and warm without the challenging summer humidity.
What Do You Think?
Do you feel you are more driven by intrinsic or extrinsic motivation?
Have you tried to approach a project with the incremental, one shade greener philosophy?
What ideas did the posts & podcasts spark that you could implement in the week ahead?
