Welcome to the Saturday post. This is where I summarize podcasts that inspired me throughout the week and give a quick recap of what was covered on both blogs. Enjoy!

PodList

This week, there are four podcasts that stood out to me.  Topics include giving feedback, returning to the office, and weather thoughts from Al Roker.  I hope you find some that resonate with you.

Does More Freedom at Work Mean More Fulfillment?  10 minutes. TED Talks Daily. This episode challenges us on what really makes work fulfilling. They suggest looking for work that lights you up is more important than being remote.

3 Quick Tips for Giving Better Feedback. 15 minutes. The Accidental Creative.  The title says it all.  We can always use new ideas to give better feedback.  This episode has a few good ones to consider.

What is “Return to Office” Really About? 47 minutes. What’s Your Work Fit? This episode is an interesting conversation on the topic that many are struggling with.

An Extreme Weather Report from America’s Weatherman – Al Roker.  10 minutes. TED Talks Daily. In this podcast, he covers what is happening with the weather and ideas for actions we can each take.

Blog Post Recap

Below is a summary of the personal development blog posts this week with links in case you want to dig in and learn more.  You can sign up to get the newsletters direct to your inbox at LoriSullivan.com.

Navigating Rabbit Holes – The first post of the week looked at those distracting, yet interesting paths our online searches take us.  Some techniques are covered to try to keep these sessions contained.

Time and Money – This post explores when right times are for each of us to spend more time and when might it be better to spend some money to gain more time.

Spend Time to Save Time – While yesterday looked at ways to spend money to save time, this post covered some ways that investing time today could save yourself time in the future.

Adding Do Dates to Due Dates – I don’t know why this one struck me so deeply.  When you read the post, the suggestion is obvious, but I had never thought about due dates in this way.

The Tension Between Duty and Play – The final post of the week explores why we need a sense of play in our lives – both at home and at work.  There are ideas provided on how you could add a little play to your day.

One Shade Greener

Wish-Cycling – We’ve all been there.  We put something in the recycle bin “hoping” that it can be recycled.  This post covers some of the most common items that are wish-cycled and provides some resources if you have another item you don’t know what to do with.

World Car Free Day – Friday was the day to promote walking and biking.  The photo in the post illustrates the walking. We could have a whole other conversation about the energy use on the huge billboards and how to reduce that energy drain.

As we move toward fall, this is one of the best times of year to start new habits.  Looking at your lifestyle and finding ways to live greener and remove toxins from your home could be a great focus.  Pick up a copy of One Shade Greener at Home on Amazon to get you started on your journey.
