The more people I coach, the more I hear a theme.
We can see strengths and opportunities in others.
We struggle with ourselves.
We are too close to the situation.
Too in our head…literally!
We know too much.
We lack objectivity.
I get frustrated at how easily I can coach someone else on their strengths and yet be so unable to sort out my own.
It’s taken me years to figure out my strengths.
And don’t get me started on the spirals I go through to set a price for my services.
Brand Partners
Our personal brands are tricky.
Having a co-pilot (or a few) on the journey can be very helpful.
A person or a team to help guide you.
Provide input when you are struggling.
Help you shape the thoughts and ideas in your head.
Provide that objective perspective.
The partner could be a coach.
You could also consider a team.
I wrote about what to expect from different types of coaching here and here.
A personal Board of Directors (team) was discussed here.
Your Turn
Do you struggle with your personal brand and find it easy to see what shines in others?
What are you finding barriers with as you try to work through?
Who might you turn to for some advice and input?
