I spend a lot of time online.

Working.

Meetings.

Paying Bills.

Scrolling.

Researching.

A lot of time is spent working in programs and apps where I know why I’m there.

Creating a presentation.

Writing.

Working the numbers.

Yet, when I need to go to the browser, the lines become blurred.

The problem is particularly bad when it comes to social media sites.

I want to catch up with friends but can’t see their updates through all the ads.

I’m looking for content, but I see all kinds of articles that don’t relate to what I’m looking for.

Bright, shiny objects are everywhere.

My frustration grows.

I want a way to stay focused.

Not be drawn to all the unnecessary and unexpected content in my feeds.

This post has no answers.

Just me being real.

Life online can be hard sometimes.

Sifting through the overwhelm to stay focused on what we originally intended to do.

I will keep trying new techniques to manage it.

But sometimes it’s helpful to vent a little.

Your Turn

Are you frustrated by the look of your social feeds these days?

What do you do to stay focused on the task at hand (even if it’s social) online?

What one change could we make to improve the situation?
