Welcome to the Saturday Summary.

What I’ve Posted – Blog Summary

This week my personal favorite is the post on reading. That said, I think the others can provide insight and ideas depending on what you are focused on right now.

MeEO Operating System. The first post of the week provides a set of 6 practices that can help us operate like a MeEO. They aren’t a formula, but rather activities to do on a regular basis.

Book Review: Your Journey to Financial Freedom. This post highlights my thoughts on this book focused on financial wellbeing.

Heads Up or Heads Down. We hear the phrase “heads down” when someone needs to spend focused time working on something. Heads up is the opposite that is just as important to consider.

What Type of Reader Are You? I had fun creating this one! As the summer months approach, this is a good time to step back and consider what type of reader we are and how it might fit this season.

What Phase Are You in Now? We end the week with moon energy. I’ve been learning about the moon phases and how they relate to our energy ebbs and flows. I hope you find it interesting.

What I’ve Listened To – PodList

This week, most of the podcasts are focused on our career wellbeing. I enjoyed the Before Breakfast episode and how the concept of the book aligns to a topic I started to explore a couple years ago. I hope you find some in here that resonates with you.

10 Ways to Relaxify Your Workspace: Part 1. 10 minutes.  Part 2. 10 minutes. Optimal Work Daily. Steve Pavlina shares ten practical strategies to transform your workspace into a more peaceful, inspiring, and productive environment.

Networking Made Easy: Strategies for Introverts and Extraverts. 29 minutes. Miles To Zen. Networking can feel overwhelming. This podcast provides ideas to make it easier & more enjoyable.

Make Life More Sustainable with Kathy Oneto. 23 minutes. Before Breakfast. Laura interviews Kathy to discuss her book Sustainable Ambition. She talks about how to make work and life work together. This reminded me of the “ah-ha” I posted about two years ago – my goal is to figure out for myself and support all of you on the journey to living a sustainable life.

The Five Mindsets Every Leader Needs to Master. 15 minutes. The Next Big Idea Daily. Paula Davis shares a summary of her new book Lead Well on why the old rules of management no longer work.

So You Got Laid Off. What next? 20 minutes. Life Kit. Getting laid off is one of the most stressful life experiences. This episode has steps to take for the first day, week, month, and beyond.

What I’ve Been Up To

This week was a resetting week. Organizing, planning, and feeling that “messy middle” feeling. I struggle when I’m in the messy middle. The frustration, lack of focus, and challenges moving forward. Yet, I know it’s part of the creative process. We all feel it no matter the form of our creativity. While I haven’t completely exited the messiness, I feel like I’m starting to see the light.

Outside of work, I’ve been settling into my summer word – SAVOR – and figuring out how it aligns with my word of the year – STABILIZE. They are working well together, and I see how savor is helping me be more present and enjoy the little joys of the season. I was also VERY happy to see the pool repair team show up mid-week. I’m continuing to push forward on outdoor maintenance and have high hopes that we will get our outdoor place in good working order soon.

What Do You Think?

Did you read the “type of reader” post? Which type are you?

What is one insight you pulled from a podcast on the list?

How are you transitioning into summer?
