Welcome to the Saturday Summary.

What I’ve Posted – Blog Summary

This week the blog covers several topics in our overall wellbeing. I hope you find at least a few that resonate with where you are right now in your journey.

Thought Leadership. The first post of the week is focused on discovering our own personal formula for thought leadership. What is it and how can we start to lean into our expertise?

The PERMA Model for Wellbeing. This post provides a quick summary of the five dimensions of the PERMA model that can lead to a flourishing life.

What is Really the Goal. Sometimes when we are in large companies it’s hard to determine how our work ladders up to something bigger. This post explores how to get underneath the goal of the goal.

Be Your Own Anthropologist. This post takes inspiration from the field of anthropology and leverages some of the tools of the industry to gain personal insights.

Finding Your Fingerprints. Our career history is focused on our footprints. The path we walked and experiences we gained. This final post of the week encourages us to shift our perspective and consider our fingerprints. The marks we left behind on the work, the people, and the process.

What I’ve Listened To – PodList

This week, the podcasts seem to follow a loose theme of being present. I hope that there are a few in the mix that resonate with you right now.

Choose Your Joneses. 4 minutes. Before Breakfast. I love this short reminder that we should really consider who we are comparing ourselves to and why. Are you picking the right Joneses?

Why Spending Time in the Woods Makes You Feel Calm. 16 minutes. Life Kit. This episode covers the topic of “forest bathing” and how it can improve our health and wellbeing.

Economic Cheat Codes for Life. 15 minutes. The Next Big Idea Daily. Daryl Fairweather shares ideas from her new book, Hate the Game. I was intrigued by the blend of economics, behavioral science, and game design theory.

Finding Zen in Everyday Life. 12 minutes. Optimal Living Daily. Melani Schwayder explores how we can reclaim peace and purpose by infusing our chaotic, fast-paced lives with the principles of Zen. I especially liked the quote that “Zen cannot exist where there is clutter”.

1000 Gestures. 5 minutes. Before Breakfast. This podcast reinforces how doing small things over time can really add up and positively impact our happiness.

What I’ve Been Up To

This week, I spent time considering where I want to take my writing and personal development work next. I’ve considered books, classes, and live events. There is so much that I’ve been learning and trying, I want to get the ideas out there to continue to help others along their personal journey. If you have any feedback or ideas you would like to provide, please drop me a note!

Outside of work, I’ve been catching up on things that were set to the side while I was out of town. Getting myself re-grounded and organized has been the focus. Last week, I wrote about “Maycember” and I’m feeling the start and a bit of stress already. I hope to quickly get my arms around things so I can lean back (or lean in) and enjoy what’s ahead.

What Do You Think?

Did the blog posts this week spark any ideas for you to test out in the week ahead?

Which podcast was the first you wanted to listen to this week?

Are you feeling any of the stressful Maycember energy sneaking in? If so, what strategies are you taking?
