Welcome to the Saturday Summary.

What I’ve Posted – Blog Summary

This week, we start off with two posts with ideas on how to manage our to-do list. Thursday weaved in a reminder on why we need to spend more time outdoors and how to find our personal formula.

Use Strengths to Get Unstuck. The first post of the week tackles the overwhelming to-do list. How might you leverage your CliftonStrengths to help you get unstuck and move forward?

Plot Your Way Out of To-Do List Overwhelm. Building on Monday’s post, today we focus on a technique to use a four-box matrix to reduce the overwhelm your list may be causing.

The Five Feelings that Fuel Our Work. This post features a MeEO framework for staying grounded and in control. Those five forces are stability, belonging, confidence, autonomy, and creativity.

Discovering Our Personal Outdoor Formula. This may be my favorite post of the week. As we head into summer, consider how to intentionally integrate more outdoor time into your day.

Scope Creep at Work. This title says it all. We’ve all experienced scope creep with a client, but how might we see it happening in our day-to-day role. This post provides some ideas.

What I’ve Listened To – PodList

This week, there are two “pairings” with podcasts on the same or similar topics. I hope you find some in this mix that feel perfectly timed for your life right now.

Suzy Welch has written a new book called Becoming You. This week, I listened to two podcasts that provided a great overview, and I really enjoyed learning more. Here are the podcasts: Suzy Welch on Finding Your Purpose. 37 minutes. Making Space with Hoda Kotb. How Do We Know Ourselves and Our Values? 35 minutes. Happier with Gretchen Rubin

Hooked on Streaks. 31 minutes. Choiceology with Katy Milkman. Have you ever wondered why those streak trackers keep us motivated…or sticking with a habit just a little too long? I enjoyed listening to this episode on the science and how to better leverage the benefits of a streak.

How to be Unforgettable. 15 minutes. The Next Big Idea Daily. This episode provides an overview of the book Unforgettable Presence: Get Seen, Gain Influence, and Catapult Your Career.

A second podcast “pairing” this week is around preparing for emergencies. This could be a variety of unexpected events and I found both episodes worth the listen.  How to Pack a Go Bag for Emergencies. 24 minutes. Life Kit. Productive Disaster Preparation and Relief. 64 minutes. Organize 365.

What I’ve Been Up To

This week, I leaned deeper into trends and thought leadership in an area I’ve become more involved with over the last year – gamification and its role in marketing and personal development. I haven’t mentioned much about it here, but you’ll start to see some updates in the weeks to come.

Outside of work, the focus is full on our outdoor spaces. There is SO MUCH to be done to prepare for summer and more projects than I can list that need to be tackled. This week is all about pruning, clearing and cleaning up to provide a blank canvas on which to start the real projects.
