This week, I want to highlight two posts focused on your personal brand.

The first is the Personal Brand Positioning Statement. When we think of corporate brands, a positioning statement seems natural. This post explores how the positioning statement can help us get clearer focus on our personal brand and our unique strengths.

The second post transitions that insight into action with the post 3 Pillars of Personal Brand Marketing. While we may know our unique difference, others around us may not be aware of the value we bring. To advance our reach and opportunities, we need to focus in three areas – Content, Connections, and Community.

Brand Voice

Tied to the above, I wrote an article titled, How Will You Use Your Voice?. This article is a part of the second writing project I participated in with a group of other business writers. Each of us took the prompt “It’s a new year” and wrote initial drafts of articles. As we shared our writing, we realized a theme emerged around the concept of voice and how that impacts in so many ways. So, we refined our POVs with that theme in mind and published our pieces. They are summarized in a carousel here and the direct links to the other four posts are here:

Camille Nicita – Leadership deserves a longer lens

Shannon Nutter – Time to review our resolve

Taryn Collier – How do we reconcile a path to where we want to be?

Josie Castro – Are we optimizing the soul out of our brands?

My Other Blog Posts This Week

Managing Change. Change is often characterized as a rational move from Point A to Point B. This post suggest that transitions are tough to “manage” because they are really about emotional and psychological shifts. This is especially true during job loss for both those impacted and those who remain at the company.

Managing Forks in the Road. Moments in life where choices are made can be challenging. We may know what we want to do but are heavily influenced by others in our life. This post explores the tension between our choices and the input from others.

Stillness. This post suggests we all need to find time just to be still.
