A couple years ago, I started digging into a lot of shifts happening in employee / employer contracts. One of the areas I focused on was the shift of burden for retirement from government and corporations over to employees.

This shift is continuing and is relevant to anyone at any age. I’ve tried to simply summarize each of the changes in this post – The Shifting of Retiree Benefits.

While there isn’t much an employee can do about the changes, what you can do is be educated about how the system works and proactively create the best financial plan for your future. I’m not an expert in this area so do your own research and ensure you work with a financial advisor.
