Welcome to the Saturday post. Below is a quick recap of what was covered on both the personal development and sustainability blogs this week as well as some podcasts that inspired me. Enjoy!
Holiday Ideas
If you are looking for smaller gifts for those in your life, consider purchasing One Shade Greener at Home (price reduced for the holidays) or eco-friendly wine charms from my Etsy shop. For the Etsy shop, orders must be placed by December 13. After that, the shop will be on holiday until 2024.
Personal Development Post Recap
This week, the posts begin a series to help you reflect on 2023 and set intentions for 2024. Links are provided for you to dig in and learn more. You can sign up to get the newsletters direct to your inbox.
Reflections and Intentions. The first post of the week starts a series that gets us thinking about the year past and setting goals for the year ahead.
Goal Setting. This post summarizes some research from Gallup including six goal setting “types”. As we start to look at 2024, this research provides an interesting foundation.
Physical Wellbeing. The Wednesday post started an 8-day series on the 8 dimensions of wellbeing. The first dimension covered is our physical wellbeing – sleep, exercise, nutrition, and more.
Occupational Wellbeing. Day 2 of the series focuses on our careers. Meaningful work, relationships, work environment, growth, and more.
Financial Wellbeing. The 3rd day of the series covers our financial wellbeing. Topics including income, investments, budgets, and spending all impact our overall wellbeing far beyond this dimension.
One Shade Greener Post Recap
The blog this week takes a break from ideas to green your holidays and shifts to a post titled “What is Sustainability?”. As we move toward 2024, it’s a good time to start thinking about sustainability initiatives for the new year.
PodList
This week, there are four podcasts that stood out to me. Topics include planning for 2024, being flexible & resilient, and how our chronotype impacts our habits and energy.
This is Resolution Preseason. 5 minutes. Before Breakfast. With the focus of the blog this week being on reflections and intentions, this podcast is a great pairing.
The One Question to Ask When Considering Post-Corporate Life. 9 minutes. Optimal Work Daily. Many people are moving to early/semi-retirement or a post-corporate career. This podcast provides some thoughts for those making or considering this transition – possibly another great tie to 2024 planning.
Supple. 22 minutes. Akimbo. This re-air of an older podcast gets you thinking. With all the changes surrounding our work and lives, we can consider if we are being supple or brittle.
Chronotypes, Sleep, and Productivity. 10 minutes. Optimal Finance Daily. We all have different sleep patterns and energy cycles. This podcast looks at chronotypes and their impact.
