Welcome to the Saturday Summary!

I hope you enjoy and connect with a few ideas.

What I’ve Posted – Blog Summary

The posts this week go in several different directions. The two that tie closely to topics I’m digging deeper into include Career Insurance and the Roles of the MeEO.

Intergenerational Job Sharing. As companies look for different employment models, I think this one would be good to have on the list. It makes me think of a modern-day, knowledge work apprentice.

Roles of the MeEO. If we think about becoming the CEO of our life & career, how might we be inspired by the roles of a corporate CEO. This post explores all those roles & responsibilities.

Atmosphere Engineering. This post explores how to consider our environment and how those surroundings can positively impact what we hope to achieve when we are in a space.

Career Insurance. This post introduces the idea of career insurance. How to prepare ourselves in the event our job disappears. You’ll see below that I’m digging deeper into this topic.

The 6 Disciplines of Strategy. This post highlights a podcast and book on the topic. Having been a strategist most of my career, these 6 disciplines were very interesting to consider.

What I’ve Been Doing

This week, I’ve been thinking about career insurance. With layoffs happening at most companies and employees anxious about job security, I want to find ways to help. What steps can employees take to have a “Career Insurance Plan” in place in the event they are part of a future wave.

Outside of work, I took advantage of two days unseasonably high temperatures to dive into outdoor work – staining the deck and fall landscape maintenance. Much was accomplished leaving me feeling both accomplished and a bit sore. I also participated in early voting and enjoyed giving out candy for all the cute Halloween trick-or-treaters in the neighborhood.
