Over the years, I’ve found something I find counterintuitive.

When I have a schedule and to-do list that is full, I have more energy.

To be clear, full does not equal overbooked.

There is a level of activities in the day that I can handle without stress.

For me, a day that is full, brings purpose and energy.

Days that are wide open without a plan make me tired.

When I could do anything, I gravitate to doing nothing.

I wonder if this is just me or if it’s how most people feel.

The full schedule doesn’t have to be work.

There can be social events, a planned activity with the family, or reading a book.

Knowing how the day will flow provides me with stability.

That stability provides energy.

The movement and flow from one activity to another.
