A MeEOTM lives an intentional life.
They have a vision, a plan, and the habits to make change.
To become a MeEO we need three “organizational” levels:
The Knowledge Worker
To take control of our lives, we need to know ourselves.
Our strengths.
Our Challenges.
How we engage in the world.
Understanding why (and how) we procrastinate.
What motivates us.
How we manage our resources (time, money, energy).
Our internal knowledge worker digs into self-awareness.
Gaining insights.
Providing the foundation to make change and accomplish goals.
The Manager
Once we know ourselves, we need to be our own manager.
The internal voice that keeps us on track. Moving us toward our goals.
Overseeing our habits.
Helping to develop our routines.
Picking us up when we fail.
Treating ourselves with a blend of tough love and forgiveness.
Balance is tough.
We need to be patient ourselves but not fall back into old habits that push against our goals.
The Leader
In addition to our internal manager, we need an internal leader.
The guide setting the vision.
Outlining the high-level goals we want to achieve.
Determining strategies and possible paths to get there.
Providing inspiration to the “internal team”.
Always looking ahead and planning what’s next.
Summary
Sometimes, we can work through the three areas in order.
Other times we bounce around needing each at different moments in time.
We cycle through all the phases again and again, learning more and getting better.
A lifetime of growth.
New goals and plans.
Incremental improvements.
Day by day.
Step by step.
Transitioning into our future selves.
