I have posted about many topics on time management.
Yet, I often shift to the idea of energy management.
Considering our days, weeks, work, and leisure times based on the type of energy we have.
Most of the energy posts have helped consider what time of day we are at our best.
This week, I’ve noticed I have a different type of energy.
Project energy.
I have a new work project that I started this week.
There is energy tied into digging into something new.
This is an area I know a lot about, but a dimension that is new to me.
Working on this project has me full of energy.
Looking for ways to summarize what I know.
Researching the areas that are new.
Discovering connections that will push the project forward.
I want to work on this whenever a few minutes pop up.
I have project energy.
What is Project Energy?
For me, the energy comes from different tasks – researching, ideation, curation of insights.
What brings me project energy might be tasks that others would choose to avoid.
We all have project energy.
It tends to tie closely to our personal brand’s “special sauce”.
We may see it emerge when we learn our CliftonStrengths.
We can identify the feeling when it happens in our work.
The key is to notice the feeling and capture the tasks that bring it out.
Once we know how our project energy is triggered, we can look for more opportunities.
We can figure out how to keep our project energy high.
