Welcome to the Saturday recap. Enjoy!
Personal Development
This week, I’ll highlight two podcasts for those out there going through job loss transitions – check out Income Portfolios and A Time to Reimagine.
From Goals to Projects. This first post of the week has us considering what might happen if we applied some of the processes we use for projects at work to our personal goals.
Income Portfolios. We reduce risk in our investment portfolios by diversifying across multiple categories. Why don’t we think about our income in the same way – spread the risk?
Hacking. What comes to mind when you hear this word? I’m guessing it might be negative. This post puts a new, positive twist on hacking and encourages you to give it a try.
A Time to Reimagine. This post springboards off a podcast I listened to (link in the Podlist below). While the podcast was focused on midlife, I laddered off the idea for many other transitions.
Personal Development Coach – Do you Need One? I often get a lot of questions about coaches and mentors. This last post of the week summarizes headlines from responses I typically provide.
One Shade Greener
This week, the sustainability post – More or Less – highlights how American culture is focused on more “things”, yet less things can bring us more joy and engagement with the world around us.
If you are interested in starting or continuing a sustainability journey, One Shade Greener at Home, could be the perfect resource. Full of brands and links to put greener products at your fingertips.
PodList
This week, I found four shorter (under 15 minute) podcasts I think you will enjoy and one longer (38 minute) episode that is worth the listen.
Re-Imagining Midlife. 38 minutes. Edit Your Life. This interview with Karen Fogarty is tied to the blog post above, this is a great episode for those moving through the transitions of midlife.
The Gentle Art of Hacking Your Productivity. 9 minutes. Optimal Work Daily. This podcast has tips to prioritize tasks, stay present, manage feedback and keep work and life in harmony. More positivity from the concept of “hacking”.
How To Make It to the End with No Regrets. 12 minutes. The Next Big Idea Daily. Our lives are finite, and many have regrets about events that occurred or didn’t. This podcast shares ideas on what we can do to move forward with no (less) regrets.
A Clear Transformative Tool to Give Feedback. 7 minutes. The Best Advice Show. Instead of the “sandwich” feedback concept, Jenn Maer introduces the process of “I like. I wish. I wonder.”
Contract or Part Time: Is one a Smarter Way to Income? 11 minutes. Optimal Work Daily. This episode highlights the differences between contract and part time employment. For those considering alternatives to the traditional full-time role, this is worth a listen.
