Since the time changed, it seems so dark in the house.

The kitchen in particular has been a problem.

I’m constantly turning on all the lights under the cabinets and above the sink.

The main six bulbs above the island just weren’t cutting it.

It bugged me, but I figured out the solution by turning on more lights.

That was until my husband said, “do they make stronger bulbs for those lights?”

We have Edison bulbs in the lights above the island.

I like how they look, but they aren’t as bright as “normal” bulbs.

They last a long time so the bulbs had been there for at least 5 years.

His question prompted me to look up light brightness.

Search for something stronger than the lumens we currently have.

And guess what?!

They exist! A quick order and two days later they were on our doorstep.

The difference is amazing.

The kitchen feels bright and airy all day… and night.

My Perspective

This reminded me how we quickly find workarounds for things.

If it isn’t a big problem, we just live with it even if it’s annoying.

Then, we stop noticing until someone else brings it up.

I forget how small things taken care of make a big difference.

This now has me looking at my environment with new eyes.

What other things do I have workarounds that could be solved with a simple fix?
