Today, August 15th is National Relaxation Day.

This day promotes stress relief through relaxation techniques.

Living without stress leads to a clearer and calmer mind.

The benefits of a calm mind include increased creativity, better concentration, and overall positivity.

With life full and burnout on the rise, Relaxation Day is a good time to take a step back.

My Perspective

Having the day land on a Tuesday is trickier than if it were a Saturday.

We need to be creative about how to relax during a “normal” weekday.

We could consider what triggers our stress.

If those triggers exist on this “typical Tuesday” find something relaxing to do instead.

Here are just a few ideas:

  • Listen to music.
  • Lay in a hammock.
  • Try yoga or meditation.
  • Add “relaxation” to your to-do list.
  • Enjoy a cup of tea.
  • Go to bed early.

We will each choose different activities to relax.

No matter what our choices are, we should strive to fit something in today.

Your Turn

What activities relax you?

How could you fit at least one of those into your day today?

What could you do to spread the word and encourage others to relax a little today?
