I think I need a break.
I’m walking that line between motivation and procrastination.
The idea of doing some of the things on my list feels like a slog.
Normally, I’m energized.
Moving forward without too much effort.
However, here we are in the 2nd most productive season of the year and I’m stuck.
The thought that keeps going through my head is I want a vacation.
I haven’t had a proper vacation since I left the corporate world.
Time physically away isn’t time mentally away.
The thoughts of deliverables, projects, and things to be followed up on are always there.
And it feels different than it did when I worked for a company.
Maybe it’s because there is no longer a team to “cover” the work while I’m away.
All I do know is that it’s time.
Next, schedule the break – a day, a weekend, maybe even a week.
Decide what to do – currently, I’m thinking “nothing” …. A staycation with no plan.
Get things scheduled to ensure everything is covered.
And, finally, taking the break.
Something to look forward to.
The motivation needed to avoid procrastination.
Your Turn
Have you ever had this feeling?
Do your motivation and procrastination play together?
When motivation disappears, how do you get it back?
