6 Practices to Run Our Life with Purpose
We don’t need to wait for a promotion to lead. We can lead from wherever we are.
However, only if we take ownership of how we operate.
That’s the idea behind the MeEO Operating System.
A personal leadership model made up of six core practices.
Not habits.
Not hacks.
Practices.
The kinds of things we can return to again and again as we grow.
Here’s how the system works:
1. Process
We start by creating space to process what’s happening in our life. Personal leadership requires time and space. That means stepping back. Getting quiet. Creating rituals that ground us. Journaling. Meditation. Nature. Not as checkboxes, but as ways of listening to ourselves. When we find space to process regularly, we start noticing patterns. We begin to lead from intention, not impulse.
2. Perspective
Shift how we see. Everything changes when we shift our lens. Perspective is the practice of reflection, reframing, and widening our worldview. How are we interpreting feedback? Are our beliefs helping or hurting? Great MeEOs ask better questions. Both of themselves and the world around them.
3. Plan
Envision what’s next. MeEOs don’t wait for the opportunity. They map it. Dreams become real when we give them structure. Plan doesn’t mean rigid. It means hopeful. It means drawing the path forward, even if the situations change. Vision boards. Roadmaps. Themes. We each decide the format that fits us best. We just need to make sure we’ve got directions.
4. Progress
Track forward movement. We don’t have to hustle to be a MeEO. But we do need to move. Progress is less about productivity and more about alignment. What did we say we wanted? Are we doing it? Celebrate small wins. Notice momentum. Let ourselves evolve.
5. Push
Do the thing that scares you. Every MeEO must leave their comfort zone. Not once. Not someday. Repeatedly. Push is about courage. Acting even when it’s uncomfortable. Whether it’s hitting publish, setting a boundary, or trying something new. We grow by pushing our own edges.
6. Play
Make space for creative joy. Play is where possibility lives. It’s not a reward for getting everything else done. It’s a requirement. Write. Dance. Make. Imagine. Play shakes things loose. It connects us to joy and reveals new ideas that strategy alone could never unlock.
Summary
We don’t need to master all six at once.
Think of this as an operating system that runs quietly in the background.
We update it.
Reboot it.
Customize it to fit our needs.
But when it’s running smoothly, we feel it.
We’re not reacting… we’re responding.
We’re not surviving … we’re designing.
We’re not waiting … we’re leading.
From the inside out.
