Habits and daily routines can be difficult to keep.

Running a marathon.

Writing a book.

Taking on a big project at work that isn’t part of the day to day.

Organizing our home or work files.

These are things we want to do.

Yet keeping discipline is tough.

We don’t see progress.

We want to just relax, do something else, or just do nothing instead.

This quote from James Clear reminds us why we should keep going:

“If you can get 1% better each day for one year, you’ll end up 37x better by the time you are done.”

My Perspective

This quote reinforces my One Shade Greener philosophy.

This started as a rally cry to lighten our environmental impact day by day.

However, it’s grown in my mind to cover all kinds of things.

Does the grass look greener in someone else’s life?

What could we do day by day to make our own lives just one shade greener.

Are there business targets that we want to meet?

What are the steps we will take each day to move the metrics one shade greener.

Day by Day.

Step by Step.

One Shade Greener.

Your Turn

Are there goals you are striving to achieve?

How could you use the one shade greener philosophy to get 37x better this year?

Could this perspective shift how your team looks at a work project?
