When we think about our lives, we may think about our feelings.

How we feel about our relationships.

Our job.

Our home.

Our health.

Or any other area of our life.

Often, we are hard on ourselves.

We feel things aren’t where we want them to be.

We feel bored, frustrated, overwhelmed, anxious, etc.

We may also feel content, comfortable, and joyful.

However, those emotions aren’t usually where we focus.

We forget what’s going right and put the lens on the negative.

My Perspective

Instead of dwelling on emotions that focus on what we don’t like about our life right now, we could shift that perspective to focus on how we want to feel.

If we know we want to feel challenged at work, and we are currently feeling comfortable, we can start looking for projects within or outside our daily commitments that push us.

If we want our home to feel relaxed, but today it feels overwhelming and full of clutter, we can start to look for ways to move toward the feeling we want.

Your Turn

Are there areas of your life where you are extra hard on yourself?

How would you like to feel in that area of your life? What would it take to begin to feel that way?

Are there small steps you could take now?
