July 2nd (tomorrow) marks the midpoint of the year – Halfway Day.
This is a great occasion to pause, reflect, and refocus.
Both individuals and businesses can embrace the day.
We can leverage the milestone to take stock of progress and plan for the months ahead.
With this also being a holiday week, sometimes this can make it easier to focus on planning.
5 Ways to Celebrate
Below are 5 ideas for some personal reflection and planning this Halfway Day.
1. Leverage Structured Reflection
Leverage the 8 dimensions of wellbeing to consider how our life has gone so far this year and what intentions we would like to set in each area in the months to come. You could also use this post from January and ask the same questions for the 2nd half of the year.
2. Focus to Document Career Journey
This approach will focus on your career. Documenting successes and failures to date, writing case studies, organizing files and deleting all the “drafts”.
3. Let Inspiration Wander
Sometimes no plan is the best plan. We could spend the day on our own doing a mix of things that work for us like taking walks, relaxing, reading, journaling, or creating a vision board.
4. Hold an Accountability Session
Working on ourselves can be difficult to prioritize. We can spend the day with a friend and work on our reflections and intentions together – or independently in the same room.
5. Host a Party
We could take the accountability session to a new level and host a halfway day party. Gather a group of family and friends, share our achievements, and discuss goals for the rest of the year.
