I heard an episode of the Daily Boost podcast titled “Understanding the 4 Kinds of Clarity”.
This 12-minute episode introduced four types of clarity:
Clarity of Purpose – What is your purpose? Why are you doing what you are doing?
Clarity of Task – What tasks fulfill your purpose?
Clarity of Process – What do you do every day? What are the rituals that keep you on track?
Clarity of Outcome – What is the prize you are going for – money, time, relationship?
The point of the episode was that 90% of what we do doesn’t drive our purpose.
Having clarity in these four areas increases our chances of getting the outcomes we desire.
My Perspective
I like the simplicity of this structure.
Know your purpose.
Use it to drive your tasks.
Make sure the routines of your day get the tasks done.
And, along the way, don’t take your eye off what you are striving to accomplish.
I’ve never used this framework.
My plan is to pick a project and apply the technique.
We’ll see what happens.
Your Turn
Have you heard of this structure before?
Do you think it could help guide a project you’ve been wanting to do?
Is there one of the four areas you think will be more challenging than the others?
