A podcast today mentioned the idea of fiscal fitness.

We’ve heard of this.

We’ve also heard of physical fitness.

In both cases, we are aiming for our personal goals and definitions of “fit”.

My Perspective

This got me thinking about how fitness might be a term that could apply to all areas of wellbeing.

We could assess if we are socially fit.

Emotionally fit.

Occupationally fit.

Environmentally fit.

The concept works.

If an area of our life isn’t meeting our personal goals, we aren’t yet “fit”.

We can consider habits and actions that would move us toward the fitness level.

We could set fitness goals.

I tried to consider if fitness was the same as sustainability and I think they are different.

Sustainability the level of intentionality and space in each area.

Fitness is the quality of the wellbeing dimension.

Your Turn

Do you see the ability to apply fitness to the 8 dimensions of wellbeing – physical, financial, social, emotional, occupational, intellectual, environmental, and spiritual?

Which of the 8 is the most fit in your life?  Which is the least?

What “exercises” could you add to increase your fitness levels?
