One year ago today, I wrote my first daily blog post.

My criteria were:

  • Keep posts short.
  • Simplify information for busy readers.
  • Focus on enhancing overall wellbeing.
  • Share what I’m learning in books and podcasts.

I spent the fourth quarter writing every day and refining my format and

In January I started posting live at LoriSullivan.com every weekday.

My first day of writing was a post titled “Seeds for What’s Next”.

I find it fitting that this was the first thing that I wrote.

That first day of writing was planting the seeds for where I am one year later.

My Perspective

As I was reflecting on the last year, I realized a question popping into my mind “Who’s it for?”

This was a question I asked myself A LOT at the beginning.

Who was I writing for?

I thought about busy professionals.

I imagined knowledge workers at large companies and marketing agencies.

The many people, just like me, who were living life.

Working on their career.

Raising families.

Doing chores, errands, and carpools.

Stressing out when there seemed to be more to do than time to do it.

Spending time having fun with family and friends.

And so much more.

What I’ve realized over time is that the blog posts are for me as much as those I hope to serve.

Writing helps me clarify ideas.

Reminds me of wellbeing topics I know but forget when life gets busy.

Uncovers topics and strategies I’ve never heard of before but have connected with deeply.

I’ve realized that I gravitate to content on planning, organizing, finding space in busy lives, and creativity.

Professional development always weaves itself in to help us think about where we want to go next.

I hope that you have enjoyed year 1 of my writing as much as I have.

Thank you for being part of the journey with me.

Your Turn

Was there a post this past year that really resonated with you?

Are there 3 friends or co-workers who might also enjoy the posts?  If so, please share the link to sign up.

Inspired by my first day of writing, is there a seed you could plant today for future you?
