My website has a program called WP-Optimize.

Yesterday, I got an email that said, “updates have been made”.

Specifically, “WP-Optimize – Clean, Compress, Cache”.

As soon as a saw the message, I chuckled and thought about how this applies to life.

I love finding inspiration from unexpected places.

Every now and then we could all use some time to clean, compress and cache.

From our closet to our desktop.

We could apply this framework to “optimize” our day-to-day life.

The Approach

I would start with compress and consider how I could reduce the volume of “stuff”.

Next, I would move to cache.

Cache stores items temporarily to make things quicker but easy to retrieve.

In a closet, that might be putting out of season items on the top shelves.

On the computer, this could be a folder for items you aren’t ready to delete but don’t need regularly.

The final step is to clean what is left.

Organize in a way that best suits your needs and lifestyle.

Summary

Who would have guessed we could find inspiration from website optimization.

We can apply the principles of compress, cache, and clean.

Removing excess, storing unused items away, and organizing what remains.

Your Turn

What do you think of this framework?

Which of the three steps is most challenging for you – compress, cache, or clean?

Is there one space (physical or virtual) that immediately comes to mind to address?
